The schedule for the 2016 SoDa Row Concert Series has been released, and I must say Daybreak seemed to have really stepped it up this year, with some real quality bands set to perform.
The second concert date on the 28th May feature Provo band The Strike. I have seen this band twice and their high energy performances are great fun live. They’ve also opened and/or played with names like Kelly Clarkson, Carly Rae Jeppson, Jason Scheff (of the band Chicago) and more.
My next band on the must watch list is VanLadyLove on the 18th June. I have seen them perform 3 times, including at last year’s Fizz Fest. This rock band were featured on VH1’s “Best Albums of 2014” staff picks and has opened for other prominent acts like Train, Portugal the Man, Blink 182, Zella Day, Coasts, Tyrone Wells, Cody Simpson, Tyler Ward, and Dave Barnes.
Another up and coming band, this time from the Las Vegas scene is Brumby, who appear on July 9th. Described as an alternative western rock band, they released their first album last year, have opened for Kings of Leon and played alongside Young the Giant.
On July 15th it’s the turn of Foreign Figures. This alt rock band from Orem released their first full length album Paradigm this year.
Channel Z who will appear at this year’s Fizz Fest on Aug 13th, are SoDa Row Concert veterans. This 80’s cover band, are great fun, loved by adults and kids alike. They dress up in 80’s gear (including hairstyles), and pump out all those classic 80’s hits, everything from Madonna to Gun’s and Roses.
Last but not least for those who love Country Music, you will be pleased to hear that Pam Tillis will perform on Aug 27th. Pam’s illustrious career includes 12 top 10 hits on the Country chart, including the number one single ‘Mi Vida Loca’.
