The recent passing of the Parks and Recreation Bond means that its all lights green for the construction to start, well at least the initial phase.
The first phase of the park will be focused on the area adjacent to 10200 South, encompassing approximately 47 acres. Included in this phase will be a number of multi-purchase sports fields for soccer, lacrosse, rugby, field hockey, and football. Also included will be a destination playground, restrooms, group picnic shelters, and walking paths.
** Update 6/6/2019 **
We finally have some news on this topic. The park received a $12 million in funding from the Parks and Recreation Bond and $3 million from South Jordan. It is now scheduled to start construction in the fall of 2020 with the first phase due to be completed in the fall of 2021. The park is now referred to as the Bingham Creek Regional Park or The BING for short.
** Update 6/9/2020 **
Construction actually began in May 2020, with phase 1 due to be completed in the Fall of 2022. Phase 1 will include (depending on budget) grading of the entire site, parking lots, maintenance facility, restrooms, multi-purpose sports fields, destination playground, disk golf course, and biking / multi-use trails.
When will this park be built. I live across the street from it and we were told it would be started in 2015, then 2016, and then 2017 and still has not even been started. Any updates?
Please consider a Disc Golf course as part of its offerings.
Seems like a good idea to me. There was going to be one in Daybreak, alongside the creek but it never happened.
Nice Skate park! Kids are really into BMX in these parts !
isn’t there going to be a pool? there isn’t a pool in that end of south jordan and it would be so nice to have close access to one. even if it was only an outdoor pool.
